Congratulations to Cheryl MacGregor, honored with the 2025 Founder’s Day Award!

Cheryl truly exemplifies the spirit and commitment of a dedicated Zontian. She first joined Zonta in February 1994 in California. After moving to Washington State in 2019 to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren, she became a member of the Everett Club—the closest to her home in Kirkland. Since then, Cheryl has helped our club “Rise Up” year after year.

Cheryl spearheaded innovative fundraising projects, including bringing LUNAFEST to our club—an event that became an annual success until its discontinuation by the sponsoring company. She graciously stepped into the role of Club President after fewer than five years with us and continues to be a valued leadership mentor.

Cheryl never hesitates to support our mission, even when the task is daunting—such as Co-Chairing the 2025 District 8 Conference. Governor Stephanie shared:

“Cheryl’s dedication to making the District 8 Conference an event to remember was impressive and invaluable. She spent countless hours with emails, texts, phone calls, and Zoom meetings, paying attention to every detail. Without her, the Conference would have been less than the amazing event it was. I am forever grateful for her commitment to the event, the District, and Zonta’s mission.”

At the same conference, Cheryl was elected Area 5 Director—an important leadership role on our district board.

As many of you know, Cheryl is a joy to work with on a project, to collaborate with at local events, or simply to “hang out” with—whether here at home or at international gatherings (like in Brisbane!). We look forward to learning from her passion, dedication, and example for many years to come.
